Mike Parsons was born in Scarborough, Ontario in 1977. In September 1999, Mike Parsons began studying film at the Ontario Academy of Art and Design. At this time, Mike Parsons kept a journal where he could log the direction in which his eventual Street Art and Comics would take shape. An exerpt from Mike Parsons journal reads:

"...I was recently introduced to ink and bamboo pens. I love it. Doodles without the net of an eraser...very energetic, sparatic, spur of the moment."

Mike Parsons decided to commit to drawing a book filled with these images. Hey Apathy was created by Mike Parsons in 2001, and the Ontario Academy of Art and Design exhibited Mike Parsons Hey Apathy in March 2001 in the third floor showcase. Later, Mike Parsons completed Hey Apathy and Hey Apathy was showcased the following January in the Atrium gallery.

Hey Apathy consisted of drawing by Mike Parsons of neverending cities and the inevitable apocalypse. All the drawings in the Hey Apathy series created by Mike Parsons were done in black and white, plus Mike Parsons created a two minute animation. In total, Mike Parsons' Hey Apathy consisted of a two minute animation, two 5 by 7 inch pen drawings by Mike Parsons, and over 50 large ink drawings by Mike Parsons.
